Cristo Rey Oklahoma City Catholic High School is a Catholic learning community that educates young people of limited economic means to become men and women of faith, purpose and service.

Through a rigorous college preparatory curriculum, integrated with a relevant work-study experience, students graduate ready to succeed in college and in life.

We will open our doors to our first class of 9th graders in the Fall of 2018. Each year thereafter, we will add another freshman class of 125 students.  By 2021, the school will serve grades nine through 12.

The first Cristo Rey school opened in Chicago in 1996, and its impressive outcomes led to other communities seeking to replicate its success.

In fall of 2015, with the approval of Archbishop Paul Coakley, a Cristo Rey committee made up of community volunteers in and around Oklahoma City launched a feasibility study to measure interest and support for a Cristo Rey school here.

The support from our community was overwhelming. Students were thrilled by the idea of going to a great school with opportunities to acquire work-experience and real world skills. Families were excited about the opportunities for financial assistance. Dozens of businesses pledged to support the school and participate in its Corporate Work-Study Program.

Oklahoma City’s Feasibility Study was approved in June 2016 by the Cristo Rey Network, and immediately kicked off a year-long launch year to ready us for students in the fall of 2018.

The Cristo Rey Network is comprised of 32 Catholic, college preparatory high schools that serve more than 10,000 underserved youth across 21 states and the District of Columbia.

The schools combine rigorous academics with real-world work experience, seeking to prepare their students for success in college and life. As part of Cristo Rey’s unique Corporate Work-Study Program, students work one day a week in professional settings, earning a majority of their own tuition.
